Program Criteria


The Schusterman Foundation – Israel works in the following program areas:
  1. Child Abuse, particularly regarding treatment, training, and prevention programs
  2. Jerusalem Renewal 
  3. Jewish Identity
  4. Service 
  5. Strengthening Israeli Society (We no longer accept inquiries from organizations that fall into this category)
Eligible proposals will address SFI's mission and fit within its funding guidelines. The Foundation is interested in proposals for programs fulfilling the following criteria (or for support of organizations that are able to address the following criteria):
  • Impact and influence of the program or organization
  • Cost-effectiveness
  • Organizational capacity of the applicant
  • Measurable outcomes
  • Reasonable sustainability 
Areas Not Funded:
  1. Endowments 
  2. Individuals 
  3. Program deficits 
  4. Media-based projects: e.g., film production and publications 
  5. Programs that may require us to assume expenditure responsibility
  6. Hospitals
The Schusterman Foundation – Israel (SFI) was created by the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation (CLSFF) to help strengthen the fabric of Israeli society by providing funding, technical assistance and leadership for new and existing initiatives.
